Ok, guys! While this forum is made specifically for The Chronicles of Taron, Benny also wants you guys to improve your own writing skills and have fun, right? So this is where it's done. The writing workshop. This is where we can answer basic questions, and even give you guys a bit of a challenge here and there. Sound good? Great! Ok, so, I'll leave this as is for now. You guys, if you have any questions, just feel free to ask.

Challenges may be anything from writing about a certain topic, or using certain words in your sentences. We'll add them once we have a good member pool.

thank you, Writers Guild, for the idea

Are there any bad habits... and I wouldn't know. I haven't read it yet. I might, though. Just be warned, I'm usually brutally honest about critiquing. Ask Axel Wink

No writer ever likes his writing as a whole. Heck, even Stephen King has a inferiority complex. If you read his authors notes, he blatantly says he hates his work.

While most of his readers love it. Generally as I see it, writers judge themselves based on the idea in their mind. When a reader reads a book, all they have is the book itself to compare the book to and, of course, other books. When a writer reads his own words, he has a clear picture of what should be going on, and may judge himself harshly on not being able to perfectly transfer his thoughts into the right words.

The problem with authors is they usually are inspired by someone or something and the problem with that is if their work isn't exactly like that author's, you consider it crap. Just know that being an author means you will hate your work. I think that is why authors are so pleased when their story is read.
