Suggestions?

Post  Chata on Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:30 pm

Amazingly enough, I have not finished Halo. I just haven't been that interested in reading lately.

I need a good book that is going to spark my interest from the get-go and keep me on my toes. I don't even know where to begin looking. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Anything by Stephen King. I personally would start off with The Stand, The Talisman, or Pet Semetary.

But really, anything is good.

As much as I love King, listen to Kefka and go with Fight Club.

Heh. I don't know. Steven King books take longer to read (do they?) and Fight Club is pretty short. So you may wanna think about quantity as well as quality.

The shortest book I've read of his that comes to the top of my head is The Dead Zone, but even then, it was like over 400 pages long.

*goes to check*

Yea, about 400 pages long. Fight Club's only about 200, right? Chuck doesn't usually write big books, IIRC.

Also, check out Robert Cormier. The best young adult author ever, imo, may he rest in peace. Although, word of warning, all of his books are very very depressing, so don't go reading it until you know what you are getting yourself into.

I mean, come on, The Chocolate War made me thank my parents so much that I wasn't in public school anymore.
