Getting back on topic...
I really want to know someone's critical analysis on Pendragon. I think that the books could definitely use some work where continuity and forshadowing are concerned. For example: the Travelers somehow get their hands on these rings, but somehow I have a feeling we will never know where they came from. On forshadowing, I think D.J. could definitely improve on that, I mean, when he forshadows, you KNOW he's forshadowing.

Also, I find it rather unbelievable that Booby hasn't learned to see the subtleties of Saint Dane's plans. He still blindly does things that he should know better not to do. Like mix the territories to dig up tak just to save one territory. It felt rather unbelievable that he'd do such a thing, since Saint Dane is obviously mixing territories for a reason.

Re: Pendragon...
Or maybe DJ is just using Bobby's stupidity as a ploy when he blows us away revealing that Saint Dane is the actual "good guy" in the story.
Wishful thinking, I know, but w/e.

Re: Pendragon...
Yes, but character intelligence should not be compromised for the advancement of the plot. It makes it feel unrealistic and shoddy.
Maybe if I reread it, it'll feel less stupid to me... =\

I just think that Bobby doesnt know what he's doing still. He still beleives that the territory he is on at one point is of utmost importance, and he should do anything to save it. He will mix territories, and even if he says he wont do it again, he still does.

Re: Pendragon...
I think that DJ is doing that to show that Bobby hasn't matured; I can feel for him a bit, but to be honest, as the series advanced on, I began to feel more and more like maybe it would be best if SD just won. idk its hard to explain, and I'm not good at explaining crap.
Re: Pendragon...
What I didn't like about PoR is that Bobby is still as confident as ever. In books 6 and 7, the flow of Bobby's behavior is understandable. Saint Dane was trying to build Bobby up to being extremely confident, only to have him be crushed down on Quillan.
In PoR, Bobby wasn't crushed. He wasn't shellshocked. He should have been. It was (partially) his fault that Quillan fell. It wasn't like Veelox where the territory was already doomed. He helped Saint Dane with his goals. He should have been confused, guilty and frankly much more interesting in PoR than he really was.
Siry should have been pushing Bobby to mix the territories, not the other way around. It would have been very interesting for a headstrong kid to be leading the LEAD traveler around to save his territory. Frankly, I think that is how PoR should have been.

Re: Pendragon...
key thing about Pendragon is to remeber is Bobby is NOT perfect he makes mistakes such as Veelox and Zadaa. I have the feeling that something earth shattering is going to happen at the end because Press said to Bobby he is the last traveler wether this is foreshadowing his death I don't know but I think shomething we least expect that Boby does unintentionaly will save Halla and destroy Saint Dane because Press also said Sait Dane will lose when he thinks he has won.

Re: Pendragon...
I hope its not unintentional on his part. I'd hope that Bobby would finally get his head on straight and stand up and take his own destiny into his hands.
Other than that, I hope SD wins lol

Re: Pendragon...
HAHAHAHA why on Earth? I mean we don't know what would happen but I'm assuming it would be bad and think of all the people SD destroyed! He siad something about destroying everything then recreating it goodness its confusing a lot of stuff was important was given so much earlier that I've read Merchant of Death and Cloral about a hundred times each! Also because I wanted to remeber what happened between releases there is much infromation.
